Sly Stone Awarded $5 Million in Royalty Lawsuit

After five-year legal battle against his former manager, the Family Stone rocker recoups more than ten years of lost royalties. Sly Stone  was awarded $5 million after a Los Angeles Supreme Court jury found that the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was cheated out of over a decade's worth of royalties by his former manager and an entertainment lawyer. In the breach-of-contract lawsuit, Stone's lawyers argued that Gerald "Jerry" Goldstein and Glenn Stone had tricked Sly Stone into becoming an employee and co-owner of a company called Even St. Productions, which they then used to pocket Stone's royalties through "shady accounting." New FOX Series “Empire” Casting Call for New Episodes

New TV series “ Empire ” has resumed production and there is a new casting call out for talent to fill some background roles.   Joan Philo casting in Chicago is seeking paid extras to work on a few scenes filming next week in the Chicago area. The new Lee Daniels show “ Empire ”, will be premiering on FOX this week but season 1 is still in production. Lee Daniels and Danny Strong (“Lee Daniels’ The Butler”) are back together again and this time working on a television series. The new FOX series is described as a sexy and powerful drama about the inner workings of a Hip Hop record label that is helmed by an Lucious ( Terrence Howard ), a man with a not so clean past.  The family’s music empire will find itself in a power struggle over control when Lucius finds out that his health is deteriorating and he must now groom a successor. “ Empire ” also stars Taraji P. Cipha Sounds 'no longer with' Hot 97

Less than 24 hours after comedian and longtime  Hot 97 DJ Cipha Sounds made  the news  for voicing his frustrations with Hot 97, and revealing he turned down offers to work at 105.1 (unlike  Angie Martinez who recently made the switch ), Hot 97 has released an "OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON CIPHA SOUNDS" via a press release. The VERY SHORT (and very cold) statement literally just says: "Effective immediately, Cipha Sounds is no longer with WQHT HOT 97 FM. We wish him well on his future endeavors." 2 Chainz Announces Plans To Run For Mayor Of Hometown

“I’m supposed to be running for mayor in College Park,” 2 Chainz says. G.O.O.D. Music recording artist 2 Chainz has revealed plans to run for mayor of his hometown of College Park, Georgia. “I’m a musician, not a politician,” 2 Chainz said while speaking with  XXL  recently. “I’m supposed to be running for mayor in College Park. I got everybody wishing. I’m really gonna do this little mayor thing in College Park. I’m just trying to make sure I have the right qualifications.” “We’ll see where the future lies for me, but you know, everything I do gotta be organic,” he continued.
