Soulja Boy  was arrested in L.A. early this morning ... after cops say he was packin' a LOADED GUN, TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell us ... the 23-year-old rapper was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over in the San Fernando Valley for running a stop sign early Wednesday morning. During the stop, cops say they noticed that Soulja was in possession of a loaded gun -- and arrested him on the spot.  Soulja was hauled to a nearby jail and  booked on a felony charge. Bail was set at $35K. Soulja has a history of run-ins with the law -- he was busted for weed and weapons back in 2011. Story developing ...

He is being held at a Miami-Dade County jail pending an initial appearance expected later Thursday. Authorities say the 19-year-old pop star was arrested after police saw him and R&B singer Khalil racing two luxury vehicles down the street at 4:09 a.m., with two other vehicles apparently being used to block off the area. Bill Cosby VICTORIA WILL/INVISION/AP Bill Cosby  is returning to TV in a new family comedy for NBC. The beloved star, who played  sweater-clad  Cliff Huxtable on  The Cosby Show , has signed a deal to develop and star in a new half-hour sitcom that is being produced by Tom Werner, whose company produced the '80s hit,  Deadline reports. The 76-year-old will play the head of a multi-generational family, and Cosby and Werner are reportedly in the process of meeting with writers for the project. It's been 14 years since his last TV series,  Cosby , went off the air, but the actor-comedian told  Yahoo TV  in November that he was eager to develop another family comedy that "would [satisfy] the people who have come to me in public places and said, 'Can't you put something on that I can watch?' Eddie Murphy  is on the attack against a comedian who has not-so-subtly insinuated Eddie is his daddy. Eddie's lawyer fired off several threatening letters to  Brando Murphy , claiming the comedian has all but advertised on a sandwich board that he's Eddie's offspring.  In one letter -- obtained by TMZ -- Eddie's lawyer, legal pit bull Marty Singer, threatens to sue him for millions if he doesn't back off. According to the letters, these are some of the things Brando has done: -- Changed his last name to Murphy -- Performing with Richard Pryor's son, Mason, in the "Sons of Comedy" tour. -- Showing up at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Eddie frequents and screaming, "My father won't talk to me!" Brando is not backing down, sending his own threatening letter to Eddie, insisting he's never presented himself as Eddie's son and calling Eddie's accusations "vile, base, contemptible, miserable, wretched and loathsome." ...
