Missy Elliott recently returned from her musical hiatus with the Pharrell-produced “WTF.” In the 10 years since the Virginia performer released The Cookbook album , Nicki Minaj emerged as the top female rapper in the game. Many Hip Hop followers see some of Missy’s style in Nicki. Nicki Minaj was the big winner in the rap categories at this year’s American Music Awards. The Young Money artist picked up trophies for “Favorite Artist – Rap/Hip Hop” and “Favorite Album -Rap/Hip Hop” for The Pinkprint . The leader of the Barbz beat out Drake and Fetty Wap for Favorite Rap Artist. Her third studio album won over Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late and J. Cole’s  2014 Forest Hills Drive. The Weeknd dominated the R&B AMAs. The “Earned It” crooner won “Favorite Male Artist – Soul/R&B” and “Favorite Album – Soul/R&B” for Beauty Behind the Madness . Rihanna took home the award for “Favorite Female Artist – Soul/R&B.” The American Music Awards are given out annually. The winners are decided by public voting. This marks the third time Nicki has won both the “Favorite Artist – Rap/Hip Hop” and “Favorite Album -Rap/Hip Hop” AMA (2011, 2012, 2015).

Jimmy Winfrey, also known as PeeWee Roscoe, was sentenced to 10 years in prison today (November 20) in Georgia for shooting at Lil Wayne 's tour bus, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports. Winfrey pled guilty to five charges for a total sentence of 20 years, according to the publication, citing the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office. The other 10 years will be served on probation. He is eligible for parole. TMZ  says that he pled guilty to six of 27 counts, all of which are gang-related. Winfrey was arrested in June on charges of aggravated assault, criminal gang activity, terroristic threats, and possession of a firearm by a felon. Tyga and girlfriend Kylie Jenner have reportedly ended their relationship, TMZ reports. Jenner is the one who broke up with Tyga Thursday night. Part of her reasoning for the split was family "pressure from the Kardashians." The site also says that Jenner was not part of any of Tyga's birthday festivities yesterday (November 19). The couple had been rumored dating while Jenner was underage. They made their relationship public this summer when she turned 18. She appears in the video for Tyga's song, " Stimulated ." While speaking with Hip Hop Wired recently, producer Scott Storch was asked if any relationships were ruined during the time when he was heavy on his partying kick. According to the beatsmith, his relationship with fellow producer Dr. Dre was one that was greatly affected by his partying. Despite harming his relationship with Dre , Storch revealed that he’s optimistic about the two working together again one day. “I think most—I regret the way I treated Dr. Dre after he so graciously opened up the doors for this kingdom to me,” Scott Storch said. “And I know the mistakes I made were 100 percent drug-induced and I just feel like that relationship isn’t over. And I hope to work with him in the future. The three-year-old will be a guest feature on Coldplay’s new album A Head Full Of Dreams , the Wall Street Journal reports. Coldplay’s Chris Martin revealed that Bey and Jay’s daughter will be singing as apart of a choir with his two children. “The ‘choir’ started with my two kids coming in after school and recording,” Martin said. “We recorded Blue Ivy Carter in New York when her mom Beyoncé was in the studio.” The British rock collective also has a track with Blue Ivy’s mom titled “Hymn for the Weekend,” which Martin said was inspired for by  DJ Snake and Lil’ Jon’s “Turn Down For What?” “The original kernel was that I was listening to Flo Rida or something, and I thought, it’s such a shame that Coldplay could never have one of those late-night club songs, like ‘Turn Down for What,” Martin said. “What would we call it if we had one?
