Green Day

Green DayOkay, so now that the Reading and Leeds festival announcements have been made, it's looking less and less likely that Green Day WILL be playing a festival on UK soil in 2012.

HOWEVER, they have announced a couple of festival headline slots across the world. One near, one... not so near.

First up, they're topping the bill at Rock En Seine in Paris, France over the August bank holiday weekend. Joining them there will be Placebo, The Black Keys, Noel Gallgher's High Flying Birds, Foster The People, Sigur Ros and Mark Lanegan.

Fancy making the hop over the river to catch a bit of that? Keep your eye on http://www.rockenseine.com/en/http://www.rockenseine.com/en/ for tickets and details.

Alternatively, if you fancy a trip a bit further east, they're slated to top the bill at Japan's Summer Sonic Festival across the weekend of August 18 / 19. Also playing that weekend are the likes of Lostprophets, Death Cab For Cutie, Hoobastank, Garbage and... umm... Ke$ha and Rihanna. Cool.

Head to http://www.summersonic.com/2012/ for full deets on that badboy.

So, unless there's some big surprise round the corner, you might have to get yourselves on a plane for your Green Day fix this summer. Still, never say never.

Green Day are currently in the studio recording the follow-up to 2009's '21st Century Breakdown'.
