50 Cent Winning the Race to End Hunger With Street Kings

Philanthropus, Actor, Model, Entrepreneur, and Hip Hop Mogul Extraordinaire 50 Cents waged a war on hunger in Africa with 25% of the sales of his energy drink Street Kings. On September 15, 2011 50 Cents launches a new line of energy drink (Street Kings) and pledges to feed 1 billion Africans; working in tandem with the UN World Food Program, which provides regular meals for some 90 million people every year. Not only did 50 pledge 25% of the sales but he gave $2.5 million to boot.
Brettina Luescher of the WFP is quoted by, Forbes to have said, “We are absolutely delighted about this partnership, it really can change the world, “The U.N. can’t do it alone. This can be a role model of how one can do philanthropy in a different way … he’s a lovely man.”

Reportedly 50 has help to feed 2.5 million people with the money generated for the initial sales of Street Kings. He has sparked recent interest for some of his most noted pop star friends.

50 has proven to be not just a candidly brash successful rapper but an avid businessman, in 2008 he sold his Vitamin Water to Coke for a reported $100 million dollars topping forbes top 100 list of most successful businessmen.

“Every time they purchase SK [energy drink], a child is being fed. I went to Africa. When you see it up close, it’s a whole different thing from when you see it in commercials. You’ll be affected by it.”
“If just one percent of business was given to charitable organizations, we would alleviate all of extreme poverty around the world,” he says. So far, pop stars like Usher, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Drake and have expressed interest in 50′s campaign. “So we’re looking forward to building bigger and better things,” he says.
