MTV2'S PREMIERE OF "HIP HOP SQUARES" DELIVERS HIGHEST RATED AND MOST WATCHED ORIGINAL SERIES DEBUT EVER

NEW YORK, NY (May 23, 2012) - MTV2's debut of the original comedic-game show series "Hip Hop Squares" proved a winner last night as it became the highest rated P12-34 original series launch with a .39 and the most watched original series premiere among P12-34 in the network's history. In addition, the channel's Tuesdays at 11:00 p.m. destination for original programming continues to strengthen as the series' first telecast grew +30% from the "Nitro Circus Live" series premiere on March 27, 2012 and +15% from "MTV2's Guy Code" debut on November 15, 2011.

On the social front, @MTV_2 and #HipHopSquares spurred conversation last night, becoming a trending topic nationally on Twitter and among the Top 10 most social programs for the night per Trendrr's "Top 20 Cable" and the "Social Guide Series Report."

The second episode of "Hip Hop Squares" will premiere on Tuesday, May 29th at 11pm ET/PT on MTV2, featuring appearances by Actor, writer and stand-up comedian J.B. Smoove, rappers Biz Markie, Fat Joe, Ghostface Killah and Maino, record producer and artist DJ Khaled, pro-skateboarder and Jackass crew member Bam Margera, comedian and "MTV2's Guy Code" talent Donnell Rawlings, comedian Ralphie May, radio personality and writer Miss Info and host Peter Rosenberg.
