Here’s the bonkers club remix of Katy Perry‘s chart-demolishing single “Roar” that you’ve been craving: Enter Chicago DJs Jump Smokers, generally consistent purveyors of danceable house tracks for the last several years, who have put their signature spin on the inspirational radio tune. Unsurprisingly, it pushes all the right buttons.

Their remix starts out with big strings (fooled ya!), but then a pummeling beat transforms it into the colossal club banger you’d expect — sped-up vocals, throbbing pulse and all, building with military drums to a euphoric finish. Prepare to jump around in the clurb for awhile to this one.

Katy Perry — “Roar” (Jump Smokers Remix)

Katy Perry went all-in on the jungle cat theme for her “Roar” video, which premiered today (September 5). The playful, campy clip — presented in “Junglescope” — finds the star the stunned survivor of a plane crash on a tropical island that looks to be a leftover set from Swiss Family Robinson. At first, KP is spooked by all the wild animals, but soon enough (as you can probably guess), she roars and rightfully takes her throne as Queen of the Jungle.

It’s like Tarzan meets The Flintstones, and of course it continues her recent obsession with animal prints. Check it out up top.

Perry’s triumphant “Roar” visual comes just days after the smash surpassed “Blurred Lines” for the top spot on the Hot 100 (making it KP’s eighth #1 hit), so that tiger she eventually faces down in the video is a perfect analogy for her late summer chart victory.
