Casting for the middle film in the new “Relationship Trilogy” of films from Fast Lane Productions — three different and unique examinations of one of the greatest complexities in the history of humanity, our romantic relationships with one other. The first film, “Two Sugars”, examined what happens when we change ourselves so much as to lose ourselves for the sake of a relationship, and the moment of decision when we decide one way or the other what is most important. This second film will examine the all too familiar occurrence where fears from our past affect our ability to be fully present or accepting of our relationships, and that incredible moment when we finally overcome those fears. Shooting is tentatively scheduled for November pending scheduling availability and completion of casting.

All Lauren knew that day was that her lover, Rachel, was taking her hiking in the woods for some kind of surprise. In a relationship that she’s had difficulty fully accepting, Lauren’s journey into the woods parallels with remembrances of where these difficulties have come from, when a dark secret of her Mom’s was exposed during a time when relationships of the type she now feels very strongly were not as accepted. In so many of our relationships, one person can often be further along and more ready for commitment, while the other struggles with something that is holding them back. In Lauren’s case, she has never been able to fully accept herself and has never fully reconciled her fears from the past … until this one very special day.
OPEN AUDITIONS TO BE HELD MONDAY, OCTOBER 12 AND MONDAY, OCTOBER 19 FROM 6 – 10 PM AT THE BIRMINGHAM AIDS OUTREACH BUILDING, 205 32nd St S, Birmingham, Alabama 35233
ROLES AVAILABLE:
Lauren: (Lead) The main character in the film, knows she loves Rachel, but she has constantly struggled with fully embracing it, and as we discover in the film, it’s been due to what she witnessed with her mother during a time when things were much different. Female, ages 25-40, All Ethnicities
Rachel: (Lead) A very strong, confident woman, loves Lauren deeply, but is constantly challenged by the fact that Lauren doesn’t fully embrace their relationship, she takes Lauren on a hike in the woods in this film, to share with her something hauntingly beautiful, in the continual attempt to show her how much she loves her. She demonstrates the patience that one exhibits when they truly love someone. Female, ages 25-40, All Ethnicities
Lauren’s Mom: (Supporting) The current story of Rachel and Lauren’s hike in the woods is intercut with flashbacks to Lauren as a child and the day she discovered the truth about her Mom, where her Mom had to sneak away into the woods just to be able to be with her lover, another woman. Female, ages 30-60, All Ethnicities
Young Lauren: (Supporting) Lauren’s story and discovery of the truth about her Mom is part of a larger day where the source of many of Lauren’s fears are revealed to have come from. Female, ages 9-12, All Ethnicities
Lauren’s Mom’s Lover: (Supporting) In one key scene during the flashback sequences, the younger Lauren catches a glimpse of her Mom lying in the arms of her lover, an event which will impact her for years to come. In the scene, both women are clothed. Female, ages 30-60, All Ethnicities.
