He and his son are really close and his Pops is known for many things- his love ballads, his easy listening songs, and he’s also known for a few of his failed relationships that were highly covered in the media a while back. His dad is Lionel Richie and Lionel’s son is Miles Richie! Ain’t that something?!! Miles is one of the two children that Lionel has with his ex-wife, Diane Alexander. Lionel also has his oldest daughter, Nicole Richie, from his previous marriage to his ex, Brenda. Speaking of Brenda Richie, that reminds us that Miles was actually born into some controversial beginnings. His dad and his mom married just two weeks after Lionel and Brenda divorced. At the time many people thought that was way too soon to re-marry, but Lionel followed his heart moved forward with their wedding. Adding to the drama behind their relationship, was the heated incident that went down between Diane, Brenda and Lionel back in the day while Lionel and Brenda were still married. Let’s just say things got ugly.

Fast forward several years to after that incident and Diane’s and Lionel’s divorce ended up being one of the most expensive divorces in U.S. history– it wasn’t the most expensive, but it was up there…waaaay up there.


Fast forward a fews years beyond that and here we are, Lionel’s and Diane’s son, Miles Brockman Richie, is 21 years old and looks nothing like the innocent lil’ dude embracing his Mommy in this throwback pic…times have changed and he’s evolved into his own.

Miles is now somewhat like a blend of Chris Brown; a rock guitarist, Slash, of the group, Guns N’ Roses; and he has a thing for posting Instagram pics of himself that look like ads for Chippendales dancers, LOL. Miles takes great care of himself and one thing is for certain- dude dances to his own drum now and he obviously loves making visits to the tattoo shop to get inked up. The coolest part of it all is that Miles and his father, Lionel are really close, no matter how different they actually are.

Miles and his dad couldn’t be more opposite- Lionel is a balladeer with a clean cut image; his son is a tatted up rock n’ roller/hip hopper type who appreciates taking his fair share of cigarette breaks throughout the day; and while Lionel was always the good guy type, his son appears to be like the modern day, bad boy version of Bobby Brown during his “My Prerogative” era…and that’s not a diss at all, just an outside observation.

Now here’s where it also gets interesting, in 2014 Miles got the initials of a Kardashian sister tattooed on his hand…not sure why though. He hangs out with Kim K.’s younger sis,’ Kylie Jenner, a lot and when video surfaced on the internet of Miles and Kylie inside of a tattoo shop as Kylie tattooed her initials on him, many were wondering if a Lionel Richie’s son was dating Caitlyn (Bruce) Jenner’s daughter! It isn’t clear if they are/were dating, but their legendary parents sure make for an interesting backstory. It probably wouldn’t be a good move for Miles though, because based on what typically happens to the brothas who date a Kardashian sister, it’s probably in his best interest to keep this ‘Kylie relationship’ on the friendship level…just saying.

We’re not sure what Miles does for a living, or if he is in college or not, but given on the amount of tats he has, it’s safe to assume that he won’t be sending his resume’ in for a stock broker job on Wall Street, or some other corporate gig. Miles seems to live a cool, carefree, rock star lifestyle, so only time will tell if he will be following in his Pop’s musical footsteps.
