A look at some of the best short films that came out of rap over the last few years. In recent years, hip hop has diversified itself artistically. When the culture first boomed, it was a medley of rapping, DJing, breakdancing and graffiti, but over the times things have changed drastically. The art of DJing is no longer essential for creating the beats a rapper needs to kick his flow. Breakdancing isn't conducive over the tempos many rappers are currently employing. Graffiti has grown so big that it's a culture of its own.  As rap and hip hop became more synonymous, the other elements of the culture didn't die, they just became their own thing. In their absence, rappers have begun to push the boundaries of food, fashion, liquor, and film. Christmas Eve, Janet Jackson announced that she’s postponing her Unbreakable world tour to undergo emergency surgery. “Hey you guys…Happy Holidays to each and every one of you! I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon,” Jackson said on Instagram. “It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring,” she continued. “Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time…There will be no further comment.” Today,  RadarOnline  is reporting that doctors found a growth on Jackson’s vocal chords “that could be cancerous.” “Doctors found a growth on Janet’s vocal cords that could be serious,” a source close to the 49-year-old superstar told  The Enquirer . “It’s a medical condition that has to be taken care of immediately.” Dr. Stuart Fischer told RadarOnline that significant damage to Jackson’s larynx would abruptly end her ability to ever ...

Charmayne ‘Maxee’ Maxwell, a member or 90’s R&B group Brownstone, died Friday night in Los Angeles According to TMZ , the singer was home with her young son after his soccer game when she fell and cut her neck on glass. Her husband,  music  producer Cartsen Soulshock arrived home later that night to find her unconscious and bleeding. Soulshock called 911, but Maxwell died on the way to the hospital. TMZ is reporting that the LAPD say the cut was caused by a broken wine glass, and they do not suspect foul play. However, according to the NY Daily News the LAPD said the death did not occur in their jurisdiction. Other media outlets have reported conflicting reports as well. According to the  Daily Mail , Maxwell died while at a soccer game in LA and  BET is reporting  the singer died while in Denmark. Netflix Casting call for Extras on “Sense8″ The  team behind the  Matrix  trilogy,   The Wachowskis   are now in production of “ Sense 8 ” season 2. The show  is a sci-fi series about a group of people who have a mysterious mental power. Season one of “ Sense8 ” premiered this last summer and season 2 of the sci-fi series is now filming.
