Fat Joe & Kanye West Clashed In The Studio Over 'Pride', "I Argued W/ Him A Little"
While Joey Crack views Ye as a music genius, he admitted the song still lacks a few elements.
"There's some other real dope parts of that song that we ain't put on there," Joe reveals. "But, you know, he's Kanye West. He's a genius. He's the best. I argued with him a little, but I let him lead the way, so that's how it is. There's no way in the world you're gonna get everyone to sing on beat. N*ggas just said, 'We're not singers.' And he was like, 'That's the dope sh*t.' We off beat. We ain't no R&B n*ggas. We singin' that sh*t off beat." (XXL Mag)The Bronx Bomber also gushed about having a fellow rap veteran on his record.
"I'm honored to work with Kanye of course, but I'ma say the biggest surprise on that record is Mos Def," Crack revealed, about Yasiin Bey's appearance. "I respect that guy a lot. I can't believe he's on a Fat Joe record. [He's about] consciousness, I'm talking about f*ckin' b*tches." (XXL Mag)Their collabo emerged online out of the blue last week.
Once again, Bronx, NY rapper Fat Joe is giving us a sneak peek into his upcoming as-yet-untitled 11th solo album via a new guest-packed track. Dubbed "Pride and Joy," the song's guestlist is impressive, to say the least, with everyone from Kanye West, Mos Def and DJ Khaled to Miguel, Jadakiss, Roscoe Dash and Busta Rhymes making an appearance. The song was produced by BINK! and co-written by Rico Love. (Exclaim)It came over a month after Joey Crack and Yeezy linked up in the studio.
If yesterday's photos from Kanye West's recent studio time got you excited -- he was there with Fat Joe, Yasiin Bey, DJ Khaled, Jadakiss, and Busta Rhymes -- then you're going to flip over the latest to hit the web. It appears that Yeezy has also been working on something with Hit-Boy, Diplo, and A$AP Rocky, the latter of whom served as the inspiration for Fat Joe's latest graffiti work. We can only imagine what the end result of their shared time together will bring, though it's safe to say our expectations are high. (Complex
