Kevin Clash Escapes The Possibility Of Jail Time

The accuser count is up to four in the number of men who have come forward with claims of underage sexual relations with former Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash. Two unnamed accusers have brought light to their allegations in addition to criminal-psychology student Cecil Singleton and aspiring model Sheldon Stephens.
Fortunately, Clash has caught a break.
According New York state law, child sex-assault victims have from age 18 to 23 to present their cases before reaching a statute of limitations. All four accusers missed their prosecution deadlines by a couple of months, reports the NY Post.
“The police told me it was out of their hands,” Singleton explained. “They said if it were up to them, they would have arrested him already.”
The Harlem resident, who has filed a $5 million lawsuit against the actor, says Clash deserves to go to prison but will settle for an apology and his promise to never work with minors again.
Singleton’s lawyer added, “That was his primary motivation in coming forward. To expose a truth, protect kids, and pave the way for other victims in this case and in general to come forward.”
