Justin Timberlake took focus away from the Oscar nominations on Thursday morning by announcing something major: a new album. Or maybe not.

He later made the announcement with an accompanying video.
"I don't want to put anything out that I feel like is something I don't love. You just don't get that every day. You have to wait for it," Timberlake says in the clip. He's then shown standing in front of a microphone in a recording studio. "I'm ready," Timberlake says. For what remains to be seen.
Timberlake's website includes a countdown clock promising more information in three days.

To whom it may concern...I think I'M READY!
For what it's worth, Timberlake could be talking about a collaboration with MySpace. The singer-actor invested in the company last year, and MySpace sent out a press release highlighting an event on Jan. 16 that would unveil some of the site's new features. Timberlake's countdown clock ends on Sunday at midnight, three days before the MySpace event.
According to widespread speculation, Timberlake collaborated with Jay-Z and Beyonce on the new album, though that wasn't confirmed by the clip. The idea of new music from Timberlake, Jay-Z and Beyonce was first teased by Florida’s Radio Now 97.9The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard both cited sources who claimed that Timberlake's album could be out "sooner rather than later."
Most were expecting something more from Timberlake beyond the teasing.

This rivals only his appearance on Fresh Air as the height of Justin Timberlake stupidity.
In a unrelated-related twist, Beyonce announced that Destiny's Child was releasing its first album in 8 years. Called "Love Songs," the record reunites Beyonce with Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland. "Love Songs" will be available starting on Jan. 29, 2013.
