Is It Beyonce’s Responsibility To Take Care Of Her Father’s Mistress?
By Andrew Scot Bolsinger
Mathew Knowles, father and former manager of Beyoncé and president of his own record label is reportedly ignoring the plight of his former mistress and his child, who are reportedly moving into a Los Angeles homeless shelter.
Alexsandra Wright claims that financial strain and a lack of support from Knowles, has forced her and their 4-year-old son Nixon to seek housing, according to a report on centricTV.com.
Wright claims despite her financial struggles, no one from the Knowles family has reached out to help including her son’s half-sister, Beyoncé.
“I can’t imagine how Beyoncé feels knowing she has a homeless brother,” she shared in an interview with In Touch. “I know if I were in the same position, I would reach out. Maybe she is too busy.”
Indirectly, Beyoncé helped the woman fall into hard times. This past March, a judge ruled that since Mathew, 63, was fired as his daughter’s manager in 2011, his child support payments should be reduced.
The $12,000 a month child support payments he was originally paying were retroactively lowered to $2,400 a month. Because of overpayment Knowles does not have to pay any child support for the next two years, according to news reports.
Wright relies on a $300 a month state-issued EBT card to pay for food and other expenses.
“Nixon deserves to know his family, and I hope one day he will meet his sister Beyoncé,” Wright said.
