Kandi Burruss Gets Her Own Wedding Spin-Off Show

"You are cordially invited to celebrate the wedding of Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker," reads Bravo's latest announcement of the The Real Housewives of Atlanta's wedding special. We'll be tuning in to see Kandi and Todd's Coming to America-themed wedding. Bravo has also renewed RHOA, Fashion Queens, Blood, Sweat and Heels and Thicker Than Water. The network has yet to announce when all four shows will return. [Bravo]

Single Ladies will get its second wind on Centric. The Queen Latifah production, which was recently canceled by VH1, will migrate over to Centric for more episodes in the fall. [The Grio]

Salli Richardson-Whitfield is joining the cast of Being Mary Jane. The actress will star in five episodes of the BET drama, playing an old friend of Mary Jane's (Gabrielle Union). [Shadow and Act]

Oakland teen Akintunde Ahmad is smashing any stereotypes people may have about young Black men. The 17-year-old Oakland Tech student, who sports dreadlocks, achieved a 5.0 GPA and 2,100 on the SAT and has received offers from the likes of Yale, Brown, Columbia and more. "People looking at me funny is so common that it doesn't stick out for me anymore," said Ahmad in an interview. "It's something that I've gotten used to."
