New Call in New Orleans for “LBJ” Starring Woody Harrelson

A new film about LBJ is beginning production in the New Orleans area and now casting talent.

Central casting just released a casting call  for specialty background actors and extras to work in scenes that will be filming in late September or early October. The casting company is seeking local talent who are able to ride a motorcycle for a police motorcade scene in which talent will be riding 1960s Harleys. Also, they are seeking talent to play funeral guests, southern senators and talent with military experience for a military funeral scene that will include a 21 gun salute, military pall bearers and a flag folding ceremony.

Rob Reiner’s Castle Rock Entertainment is producing the historical drama along with Acacia Entertainment, Savvy Media Holdings,  and Star Thrower Entertainment. Rob Reiner is also one of the film’s producers.Woody Harrelson is set to play the 36th President of the United States, Lyndon B Johnson. “LBJ”  will film on location in Texas, Louisiana and DC. “LBJ” focuses on Lyndon B Johnson who became President following the assassination of John F Kennedy. The film is set in the 60s and focuses on the political turmoil that followed the assassination.

Johnson’s term in office during the 60s, saw the enactment of the Civil Rights Act and later, the Vietnam war. Johnson was also featured in another historical drama, Selma in which actor Tom Wilkinson played Lyndon B Johnson.

FUNERAL: Upscale 20’s-50’s Caucasian & African American looking Men & Women to play guests at a funeral.

*Men’s Coat size must not exceed a size 44 and Women’s dress size must not exceed a size 12. Men should be clean shaven and expect to receive a 1960’s style crew cut. Women’s hair should not be longer than 2″ past their shoulders.

If you are available to work, you must be able to attend a fitting next week, Monday 9/14-Friday 9/18 in St. Rose, LA (next to Kenner).

MOTORCYCLE – Caucasian looking men with short hair who have extensive experience riding motorcycles. You must feel comfortable riding an early 1960’s Harley in the scene and be able to portray a police officer. You must have a valid motorcycle license and must be able to attend a fitting in Kenner, LA.

SALUTE – Caucasian looking men with short military hair who have military experience. You must have experience participating in a military funeral (specifically looking for those experienced with a 21-gun salute, military pall bearers and flag folding). You should be able to attend a fitting in Kenner, LA.
