Casting Asians (Male & Female) for Lead Roles in Short Film (Paid)‏

CASTING ASIAN ACTORS FOR SHORT FILM 

MUST BE ABLE TO PORTRAY JAPANESE

Casting Asian actors and actresses to portray Japanese people for a short film.

Open to union and non-union talent - SAG Ultra Low Budget contract.

Pay is $100 per day.

ROLES:
GEORGE (Lead):
Male / 13-16 / Asian.  Must be able to portray Japanese. Does NOT need to speak Japanese.  Athletic build. Must be ok with having short black hair.  George is an avid baseball fan and player.

KAZUO (Lead):
Male / 44-55 / Asian.  Must be able to portray Japanese and speak Japanese fluently. The father of a family of four.  Quiet, unmovable, affected and remembers what he had to endure in the internment camp

KAORI (Lead):
Female / 38-44 / Asian.  Must be able to portray Japanese and speak Japanese fluently.  Kaori is the mother of the family.  She is the glue that holds the family together.  We are looking for a great actress who can convey much emotion in their eyes.


STORYLINE: Storyline: TADAIMA is a short film set in 1945.  It is about a Japanese American family that returns from an internment camp to their home for the first time in four years.  Upon returning home, the Iwane family finds their house neglected and even vandalized, and so the children look to their passions and their mother for hope.  Fittingly, TADAIMA is Japanese for ''I'm home.''

This short will be submitted to various festivals and is a GREAT project to work on if you are an actor. Meaningful, sensitive, and poetic - a great piece to add to your reel and to be part of something memorable.

Auditions:  April 18th - 19th, 2013, in Los Angeles
Shoot:  Tentatively scheduled for June 17th - 25th, 2013 in Northern California (all travel and accommodation expenses covered)
