R&B sensation Tremaine "Trey Songz" Neverson quickly rose to prominence after the 2005 release of his aptly titled debut album, Gotta Make It, and over the years he's racked up numerous hits, including his latest, "Na Na." Trey is about to unleash his sixth album, Trigga... and he's celebrating at his iHeartRadio Album Release Party, which will livestream on Yahoo Screen this coming Monday at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET.

To get you ready for the big show, we've compiled a list of need-to-know facts about the 29-year-old pop star. Get the backstory on his liplock with Toni Braxton, his teenage part-time job, his interpretation of R. Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet," and more!

1. Trey Couldn't Resist the Opportunity to Smooch Toni Braxton. Trey's 2009 Soul Train Music Awards performance with Toni sparked rumors of a true romance: While singing their collaboration "Yesterday," they engaged in what appeared to be an actual passionate kiss. Both stars dismissed the speculation, however. Toni said the gesture was choreographed. "There is a lyric in the song, in the bridge, where it says, 'Don't you want to try again, started with a little kiss…'" Braxton later told talk show host Wendy Williams. "So we were trying to narrate the song. That's where the kiss came from." An equally dismissive Trey offered the same explanation, and told radio personality Angela Yee, "It was a show. It was a great moment. Who wouldn't kiss Toni Braxton? I just kissed her." The man had a point.

2. Trey Can Do a Great R. Kelly Impersonation. In 2004, the year before Trey released his Atlantic Records debut, he generated buzz with his unofficial installment of R. Kelly's hugely popular "Trapped in the Closet" R&B soap opera series. In the original "Trapped," R. Kelly's character, Sylvester, cheated with a married woman; in Trey's version, "Open the Closet," Trey took on the persona of the husband of Sylvester's mistress. Trey did such a great job imitating R. Kelly's melodramatic delivery, it was hard to tell Songz and Kelly apart!

3. Trey Has a Tattoo Dedicated to Two Special Ladies. Trey is as famous for his toned physique as he is for his steamy R&B ballads and hip-hop club records, and his many shirtless photos have prompted inquiries about the passage tattooed on the left side of his chest that reads: "To God I pray may April's shower's rain on her Forrest and grow the strength that started with one Rose." In a 2008 interview, Trey revealed the ink's sentimental meaning: April is the name of his mother, Forrest is his brother, and Rose is his grandmother.

4. Singing Isn't Trey's Only Talent. Long before Trey was an in-demand singer, guesting on tracks with everyone from Mariah Carey to Young Jeezy, he developed a reputation for one of his other talents — hairdressing. In a 2010 episode of MTV's When I Was 17, Trey recalled taking a break from high school to take up cutting hair. He was a natural, and was quite popular during prom season. "I cut everybody's hair for the prom," the aspiring barber said. His cousin Jay recalled Trey's extensive clientele: "The whole week of prom, like every day, probably at least five to 10 guys would come over to the house to get a shape-up." At least one of Trey's customers was not happy, though. "My clippers got so hot," Trey recalled. "I remembered I messed my homeboy's head up so bad, he had scars for, like, the next two days."

5. Trey Was Supposed to Be Killed by Leatherface in Texas Chainsaw 3D. Trey was already a fan of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre slasher films when he was cast to co-star as the male lead in Texas Chainsaw 3D, which opened at No. 1 at the box office in January 2013. Trey was so into it, he even enjoyed the process of putting on gory makeup and joked when describing the car scene in which his character was killed. "Leatherface actually doesn't touch me. I die in a car wreck," he said. According to the makeup crew, Trey was originally going to have an exchange with the notorious villain. "At the time, what we thought was going to happen was that we were going to kill him by putting a chainsaw through his chest, but then they went, 'Ugh, no. We're just going to crash the car and he's going to go through the windshield,'" a rep said. Trey didn't mind. When asked if shooting a graphic car scene was freaky, he just smiled and quipped, "Damn right!"
