Jeremy Meeks, dubbed 'Hot Convict,' hires second Hollywood agent to handle modeling, endorsement deals
The California gangbanger dubbed the “Hot Convict” now has two Hollywood agents.
But widespread reports of Jeremy Meeks inking a lucrative modeling contract were premature, one of his agents told the Daily News Thursday.
Gina Rodriguez, who is handing Meeks’ entertainment career, knocked down reports that the blue-eyed prisoner with a tear-drop tattoo had signed a deal with Blaze Model & Talent Management of Santa Monica, Calif.
“With Jeremy, we have not signed with Blaze Models. We’ve never even spoken to that agency and neither has his family.”
Rodriguez confirmed that Meeks now has a second agent handling potential modeling and endorsement deals.
Veteran talent agent Jim Jordan of the White Cross Management has agreed to help the career criminal go legit, Rodriguez said.
She estimates Meeks, 30, can bring in “$30,000 to $100,000 a month” in modeling and entertainment gigs.
Rodriguez said she’ll focus on getting Meeks a reality TV deal.
Meeks is in jail on $1.1 million bail in Stockton, Calif., where he was swept up in a gang crackdown last month and hit with weapons charges.
His mugshot went viral when it was posted on the Stockton, Police Department’s Facebook page.
Meanwhile, Meeks’ defense attorney doesn’t think he’s ready for his close up just yet. The lawyer, Tai Bogan, filed a motion Wednesday asking a judge to bar news cameras from the courtroom during Meeks’ July 8 hearing.
Bogan told The News Thursday that he fears photos of Meeks wearing shackles and jail clothes could “prejudice the jury pools.”
“If it wasn’t for his fame, I wouldn’t have had as much of an issue with the media being there,” Bogan said.
