Eminem's Daughter Hailie Graduates High School With Top Honors
Eminem's daughter, Hailie Mathers, graduated high school Summa Cum Laude and is headed to Michigan State University.
Some of the earliest criticisms of Eminem centered around his many references to his daughter Hailie, who was just a toddler when songs like "'97 Bonnie & Clyde" (the lyrics of which had Em taking her and her recently-murdered mother out for a drive) first dropped. If Em's original detractors were to be believed, this girl's life was in danger of being ruined, but now it seems that quite the opposite has happened. Hailie Mathers, now 18, has graduated her high school with top marks and is headed to Michigan State University.
Achieving Summa Cum Laude status (an honor awarded to those with at least a 3.9 GPA), Hailie was eager to thank both of her parents, saying that they "have pushed me to be the person I am and have given me all the support to achieve what I have.” She was also named homecoming queen last fall, and was a member of the Natonal Honor Society, Art Club, Key Club, volleyball team and student council.
Below, revisit Em's 2002 track "Hailie's Song."
