So I decided to give ya’ll a peak at what we’ve been seeing as far as total buzz in NC in no particular order. If You Want to know how they made my list Google Them.

Qushawan Farrar (born June 18, 1989),better known by his stage name Deniro Farrar, is a rapper from Charlotte, North Carolina. He has collaborated with other artists such as Ryan Hemsworth, Shady Blaze, and Flosstradamus. His voice was described by Sam Hockley-Smith of The Fader as “an eerily calm rasp that never leaves the emotional range of fuming mad”.

King Mez, a Raleigh native, is a different kind of North Carolina emcee. If you’ve heard many of the state’s resident rappers, you’ve likely noticed the standard culture of violence endemic to a lot of lowbrow hip-hop. “North Cock-It-Back,” after all, is a native rap motto. Mez, only 25, seems to have already lived long enough to know better.

Rapsody was born in Wilson, North Carolina, and began her career as a member of the North Carolina based hip-hop group, Kooley High. She launched her solo career in 2008 after signing with 9th Wonder’s It’s A Wonderful World Music Group.

Like most kids in his native town of Charlotte, North Carolina, Leroy Shingu had a head filled with hip-hop dreams growing up, even trying his hand at freestyling when he was all of nine years old. But a trying background starkly different from the blissful suburban reality of his peers would compel the rapper better known as Well$ to turn that childhood fantasy into a promising career as a rapper.

Harvey J
