In an interview with New York Daily News , Ja, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, said that he's befriended former state controller Alan Hevesi and former Tyco CEO Dennis Kozlowski and that prison is "amazing" for hosting these types of individuals. “Outside, you don’t meet guys like this every day. This place is amazing,” he said. “Koz just got out on work release. Not to say I wish he was still here... B-13 Peer Review's Moment in Black History Ruby Bridges Hall In November 1960, six-year-old Ruby Bridges Hall became the first African American child to desegregate an elementary school. Although she only lived a few blocks from the William Frantz Elementary school in New Orleans, Louisiana. Marshals had to escort Ruby because of angry segregationist mobs that gathered in front of the school. For an entire year, she was the only student in her class since white parents pulled their children from the school in protest. She wrote about her experiences in her book THROUGH MY EYES. VladTV recently caught up with Raekwon to talk about the legendary Wu-Tang Clan's career and their legacy as of late. During the interview, the Chef explained that he personally feels the Clan hasn't been as active as a team as of late due to differences that arose out members' solo success. He explained that when the Wu was first working together, there was a certain energy and hunger that unified the nine members behind the W. Wale recently chopped it up with Montreality , providing a little insight into Maybach Music Group's Self Made Vol. 2 . During the interview, he revealed that he has collaborations with Fabolous and Yo Gotti for the project, but that Rick Ross doesn't want any of the members giving away much about the project. "You know how Ross is, Ross don’t want us to talk about none of that. I didn’t even hear Rich Forever until like two days until [it dropped]," he said. Elephant Man Arrested On Sexual Assault Charges

Jamaican dancehall star Elephant Man was arrested yesterday (January 31st) on sexual offense charges, including grievous sexual assault and rape. According to Go-Jamaica , Elephant Man, whose real name is Oneil Bryan, reportedly sexually assaulted a woman at his St. Andrew home earlier in January. Police detectives put the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse on the case, leading to his arrest. Elephant Man was questioned in the presence of his attorney and was then slapped with the charges. He is scheduled to appear in court today. Don Cornelius, “Soul Train,” creator dead at age 75  By David Malitz Updated at 11:55 a.m. “Soul Train” creator Don Cornelius was found dead in his Los Angeles home early Wednesday morning. He was pronounced dead after the Los Angeles Fire Department transferred him to a nearby hospital, Officer Sara Faden of the Los Angeles Police Department told The Washington Post. Cornelius was 75. The cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound said Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter. Cory Gunz In Custody After Gun Arrest Posted 57 minutes ago by MTV News in Music News By Nadeska Alexis ( @neweryork) On Sunday (January 29) MTV News announces, spoke with veteran Bronx rapper Peter Gunz , who confirmed that his son Cory Gunz was in custody, after being arrested with a loaded firearm. The 24-year-old rapper was handcuffed around 2p.m. on Saturday in his hometown, Bronx, New York where he is now being held. "It was definitely an illegal search," Peter revealed. Gunz was unable to disclose full details on the incident just yet, but he explained the events leading up to his son's arrest. "I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I'm hearing from him is that they got a phone call at the station saying they should 'look out,' " Gunz said.
