Family rep says the rapper's letter didn't contain an apology. The family of  Emmett Till  is not satisfied with the  apology   Lil Wayne   offered. Family rep  Airickca Gordon Taylor , Executive Director of Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation, pointed out to  TMZ  that Wayne didn't actually apologize. "While it’s commendable that he has vowed to respect the legacy of Emmett Till and his memory to 'not use or reference Emmett Till or the Till family in his music,' this statement falls short of an apology, as none is mentioned," she said. Chris Kelly, one-half of the 1990s rap duo Kris Kross,   died Wednesday of an apparent drug overdose , The Associated Press reported. He was 34. Kelly, who was known as "Mac Daddy," and his partner Chris Smith (a.k.a. "Daddy Mac"), were only 13 years old in 1991 when they were discovered by music producer and rapper Jermaine Dupri while performing at the Greenbriar Mall in Atlanta. Dupri's label, So So Def, signed the boys and sent them into the studio to record their first album. Kris Kross rocketed to stardom a year later with the release of the single "Jump." The song  spent eight weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 , became an aerobics anthem and helped their debut album "Totally Krossed Out" go multiplatinum, CNN reported. The story of Ray J's song "I Hit It First" is really a cautionary tale of what happens when the internet meets music. Instead of making a catchy or meaningful track, Ray J went all-in on stupidity, because that's what internet users like most. The track itself was already pathetic and  riddled with references to Kim Kardashian,  who Ray J filmed a sex tape with years ago. He also references Kanye West, fitting given that Kardashian is pregnant with West's child. In the "I Hit It First" video, which premiered today on TMZ (though that website prefers to say it "obtained" the video), Ray J cavorts with a poor man's Kardashian. He hangs out with her on a private jet and he -- wait for it -- films an amateur video of her playing with her blouse seductively. Get it? WTF....Russian Mobster Charged In The Murder Of Rapper Lil Phat At Atlanta Hospital In A Ordered Shooting?? --  Channel 2 Action News has confirmed that three of four suspects in the high-profile murder of hip-hop artist Lil Phat are now in custody. Among the accused is convicted Russian mobster Mani Chulpayev, whom Channel 2 consumer investigator Jim Strickland exposed in a Channel 2 investigation focusing on Chulpayev's Atlanta car business. Authorities said Lil Phat was involved in one of those deals. "I termed it an assassination," District Attorney Paul Howard told Strickland about the killing. The shooting happened June 7, 2012, in a parking ramp at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. Howard says Lil Phat, born Melvin Vernell III, was there and about to become a father. He was sitting in an Audi A7 when he was shot repeatedly. Howard said Lil Phat got the car from Chulpayev and that Chulpayev used a GPS tracker to locate the victim.  Chulpayev is accused of

Chicago rapper  Lil Reese , born Tavares Taylor, was  arrested  early Sunday (April 28) morning while sleeping in a car in Champaign county. A warrant had been issued for the Def Jam signee earlier this week. According to the  Chicago Tribune , Reese was arrested on the  4400 block of South Wells Street in the Chicago's Fuller Park neighborhood. A police officer had spotted the "Money Stackin'" rapper sleeping in a vehicle.  The arrest warrant was issued for charges of criminal trespass, mob action and battery that supposedly occurred in February 2012. Authorities have not disclosed details on what exactly occurred on that date. Reese, 20, who is part of Chief Keef's GBE clique, is currently being held on $100,000 bond. In late 2012, Reese came under fire when footage was revealed of him punching and stomping out a young woman named Tiairah Marie during a house party.
