A year ago, there was an announcement made that Andre 3,000 will be starring in the biopic film for Jimi Hendrix. The film is titled ‘All Is By My Side’  which is scheduled to release September 2013. The film won’t feature any songs that were previously recorded by Jimi Hendrix; the film will include songs produced mostly by the Beatles and the Blues king Muddy Waters. Jimi Hendrix did make some form of musical contribution to the songs that will be featured in the film, rather it’s a Beatles song or not. Michael Jackson's former doctor is threatening to drop a bombshell on the court proceedings for the singer's wrongful death case if he's asked to testify at trial. TMZ.com posted audio of a voicemail message Conrad Murray recently left for a friend.  In the  message, the cardiologist warns that he'll reveal a big secret about Michael Jackson if AEG Live and the Jackson Family continue to ignore his requests to leave him out of the trial.  Murray is serving time behind bars for involuntary manslaughter in connection to the singer's 2009 drug overdose death.  He was previously asked to  testify in Katherine Jackson's lawsuit against AEG Live but pled the Fifth Amendment to get out of it.

Gospel recording artist Deitrick Haddon has married the mother of his daughter, Dominique McTyler, after having divorced his ex-wife, Damita Haddon for allegedly cheating on him with a fellow Gospel artist. Haddon seems to be happy with his new wife and eager to start his married life again. He took to his Instagram account and posted pictures from the wedding day as well as a message to his friends and fans, “Today is one of the greatest days of my life. I’m no longer a single guy. Taken me off the market!!! I’m a married man!!! Yeeup.” Earlier this year Haddon publicly announced his divorce from his ex-wife Damita and the reason why they split. The Haddons ended their 15 year marriage in August of 2011 due to Deitrick’s allegations that Damita and fellow Gospel artist Isaac Carree had a an affair. A group of ten former "American Idol" contestants have filed a joint lawsuit against the show.  The contestants - all African Americans - are claiming the show eliminated them based on race and used their arrest histories to humiliate them on national television.  According to "TMZ," they're suing on the grounds of discrimination and want the show to adopt a new anti-racism policy.  When the group first announced their plans take legal action back in January, the show's then-producer Nigel Lythgoe called the claims "ridiculous," insisting the Fox talent competition treats all of its contestants equally. Among the contestants suing is Corey Clark, the season two hopeful who famously went public about his alleged affair with judge Paula Abdul.  The contestants' lawyer is arguing that "Idol" made the ten singers seem like "violent criminals, liars and sexual deviants."  They're reportedly asking for 25-million

Dennis Farina  -- who starred as Det. Joe Fontana on "Law & Order" -- died today in Scottsdale, Arizona after suffering a blood clot in his lung. He was 69. Farina is a Hollywood legend -- who appeared in tons of classic films and TV shows including "Get Shorty," "Snatch" and "Midnight Run." He also appeared in HBO's series "Luck." Farina -- who was born in Chicago in 1944 -- is survived by his 3 adult children from his marriage to Patricia Farina. They divorced in 1980.  He also has two granddaughters and four grandsons. Farina's rep says the actor is also survived by "the love of his life of 35 years, Marianne Cahill." It doesn't appear the two were ever married. According to Eonline.com , Grammy-award winning singer, Kelly Rowland, had to be rescued off the coast of Provincetown, Massachusetts, on Friday after 12 hours of floating adrift. The 32-year-old singer/actress and her  friends  rented a boat to spend the day whale watching but were left helpless once the vessel broke down. An employee of TowboatUs of Provincetown told E! News what happened: “[The boat became] disoriented in the five-to-six-foot waves and fog that had rolled in…The US Coast Guard was able to triangulate their position” after learning that the group needed help.” As if that weren’t frightening enough, Rowland’s vessel broke down again while being guided back to shore by the US Coast Guard so it had to be towed the rest of the way to safety. Rowland and her friends were safely guided back to land by 10pm Friday evening after 12 hours of being afloat at sea.
