New Soundgarden box set due next month

While the reunited Soundgarden continue to work on their first new album in more than 15 years, the band is offering up a new box set next month.

Due May 21, "The Classic Album Selection" will contain the original A&M recordings of Soundgarden’s seminal albums, "Louder Than Love" (1989), "Badmotorfinger" (1991), "Superunknown" (1994) and "Down On The Upside" (1996) plus last year's live record of the band's 1996 West Coast tour, "Live On I-5" (2011).

The albums will be presented as a set of mini-LPs in gatefold wallets with booklets and exclusive new artwork designed by widely acclaimed designer and long-term Soundgarden collaborator Josh Graham.

"The Classic Album Selection" box set features:

* Louder Than Love
* Badmotorfinger
* Superunknown
* Down On The Upside
* Live On I-5

While the box set looks to the past, the band is moving forward with new music.

Available now, "Live to Rise" is the first single from the soundtrack album for "Avengers Assemble," which will be released May 1. Tracks from Shinedown, Rise Against, Bush and Five Finger Death Punch are among the 14 cuts on the album.
