Martin Lawrence Doesn’t Think ‘Bad Boys 3’ Will Happen

Image
It’s been over 14 years since  Bad Boys II  invaded Cuba, and while Sony has been eager for  Bad Boys 3  (aka  Bad Boys For Life ), the film has stalled out time and again. There was a time when it looked like the pieces were falling into place with  Will Smith  and  Martin Lawrence  set to return with  Joe Carnahan  directing for a 2018 release date, but then Carnahan left the project, the movie lost any release date, and now it’s stuck in limbo. Lawrence recently spoke to  EW , and he didn’t sound too optimistic about an upcoming third installment. “I don’t think we’re going to get one, not the way everything’s turning out. Will is off doing another movie, and I don’t think it’s going to happen.” For his part, Lawrence is eager to return, but with Smith’s busy schedule and no director attached, the project remains in development hell. Personally, while I would have loved to have seen Carnahan’s take on a  Bad Boy...

B-13 Peer Review: Hopsin (The Illest MC out there)

Image
I met Hopsin some 6 maybe 7 years ago I was a talent manager in LA, CA and I thought he was amazing. His message was the antithesis of the megalomaniacal, misogynistic, lyrics with ignorance as a bar of the cool thugs. He challenged the establishment, I found him courageous. After studying hip hop I realized that the establishment intended to use hip hop to destroy our youth. Hopsin new about this I heard the messages in his music. I wanted an artist that would do just that. I was looking for someone I could show this to and see how their message would change. Hopsin was there I didn't have to show him he saw it. I tried everything in my power to get his to work with me. We talked for over about a year to a year and a half. Then I didn't hear from him for some time. The next time I heard from him he was signed with Tech Nine. When I heard this video, I was furious I messaged Tech Nine, asked him what he was doing. Hopsin is not Emenim he is his own artist in his ow...

B-13 Peer Review/ Flash back: When Eazy-E Went Straight Outta Compton to The White House

Image
JRT | AUG 22, 2015 12:30 PM | SEP 30, 2015 12:57 PM It looks like  Straight Outta Compton i s going to have another good week at the theaters, and we’ve already complained about how the N.W.A. biopic doesn’t even mention J.J. Fad. That ain’t right. Still, we’re also upset that Eazy-E gets as much short shrift as you’d expect from the N.W.A. member who’s also dead. To be fair, Eazy-E gets treated better than we expected, considering the bitter break-up and his own attitude towards his old bandmates in the ’80s and ’90s. Still, we wish  Straight Outta Compton  had included that time when Eazy-E rocked the nation by showing up at the White House for a special Republican Inner Circle party.
