Casting Call for “Ascendant” – Divergent Series Stand-ins in Atlanta

The new “Divergent” series movie, “Ascendant” is filming in Atlanta and casting extras right now. Recently, the project got a title. The 4th movie in the Divergent series is being called “Ascendant.” Up until now, the movie was referred to as “Allegiant” part 2.

The film’s casting directors are seeking female talent who are tall and muscular to fill some small extras roles on the film.  ”Allegiant”  has been filming in the Atlanta area and this scene is scheduled to shoot this coming weekend.

The 4th movie in the “Divergent” series continues the saga of Beatrice “Tris” Prior in the post apocalyptic wold that she lives in.  The sci-fi trilogy is based on the book series written by author Veronica Roth. Beatrice Prior is played by Shailene Woodley, also starring in the film are Theo James ( Four), Naomi Watts (Evelyn)  and  Ansel Elgort will play Caleb Prior.  In “Allegiant”  Beatrice Prior and Tobias Eaton venture into the world outside of the fence and are taken into protective custody by a mysterious agency known as the Bureau of Genetic Welfare.  The Divergent Series also stars Jeff Daniels, Octavia Spencer, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Miles Teller, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer and Daniel Dae Kim.

While the story is set in Chicago, looks like the majority of the movie will film in the Atlanta area.“Allegiant” and “Ascendant“ will be released in theaters in the spring 2016 and 2017 .
